Privacy policy
This policy explains what information VideoCliper handles when you upload and process video, how that information moves through our service providers, and the controls available to you.
Effective and last updated: August 7, 2026
Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies to VideoCliper's websites, applications, caption editor, clip-generation tools, subscriptions, and related services (together, the "Service"). VideoCliper is the controller of personal information described in this policy unless another notice says otherwise.
It does not cover third-party websites or services that you choose to access through a link. Their own privacy notices apply.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account and profile information: name, email address, authentication identifiers, account settings, and login information. If you sign in with Google or another provider, we receive the account information that provider makes available to us.
- User content: uploaded videos and audio, thumbnails, captions, transcripts, prompts, titles, editing choices, custom fonts when supported, generated clips, rendered exports, and associated project metadata.
- Payment and subscription information: plan, transaction references, payment status, billing history, and credit usage. Payment providers process payment credentials; we do not intentionally store full card or wallet credentials.
- Communications: support messages, feedback, survey responses, waitlist submissions, and other messages you send us.
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages viewed, feature interactions, timestamps, referring pages, session identifiers, diagnostic data, and security logs.
- Information about people in your content: a video may contain faces, voices, names, locations, or other personal information about you or third parties. You control what you upload and must have the necessary rights and lawful basis to provide it to us.
We obtain information directly from you, automatically from your device, from authentication and payment providers, and from service providers that help us operate the Service.
How and why we use information
We use information to provide accounts; receive, store, transcribe, analyze, edit, render, and deliver media; maintain project history; process payments and credits; provide support; secure and troubleshoot the Service; prevent fraud and abuse; understand product performance; communicate service notices; comply with law; and establish or defend legal claims.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, your consent where requested, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, but withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Uploaded media, transcription, and AI processing
To perform the feature you request, uploaded media and related instructions may be transmitted to speech-to-text, AI model, rendering, and infrastructure providers. Caption projects currently use ElevenLabs for transcription. Clip analysis may use a configured AI model provider. Providers process content under their applicable agreements and data-processing terms.
Automated systems may analyze speech, scenes, topics, timing, and engagement signals to create transcripts, suggested clips, scores, titles, or other outputs. These outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate and should be reviewed before use or publication. We do not use the Service to make legal, employment, credit, medical, or similarly significant decisions about you.
You are responsible for third-party data
International data transfers
VideoCliper and its providers may process information in Nepal, India, the United States, and other countries where infrastructure or processing providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live. Where required, we use recognized transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards for international transfers.
Retention, storage, and deletion
We retain account and project information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account and project history, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Different categories may have different retention periods.
VideoCliper is not a backup service
When you delete content or request account deletion, it may become unavailable immediately and the action may be irreversible. Deletion from active systems and service providers may take a reasonable period. Limited copies can remain temporarily in backups, security logs, transaction records, or legal archives until their normal expiry or for as long as legally required. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that can no longer reasonably identify you.
Data security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including access controls, private object storage, short-lived upload and download authorization, transport encryption, and operational logging where configured.
No online service, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be lost, corrupted, accessed without authorization, or disclosed despite our safeguards. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, opt out of certain disclosures, and appeal or complain to a privacy authority. You will not receive unlawful discriminatory treatment for exercising a privacy right.
Submit a request to sales@videocliper.com. Describe the request and the account email involved. We may verify your identity and authority before acting. We may deny or limit a request where permitted by law, including to protect another person's rights, preserve security, or meet legal obligations.
Regional privacy disclosures
EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: You may exercise the rights described above and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object based on your circumstances.
California: Subject to the law's applicability and exceptions, California residents may request the categories or specific pieces of personal information collected, sources, purposes, and disclosure recipients; request correction or deletion; and receive equal service when exercising a right. In the preceding 12 months, we have collected and disclosed for business purposes the categories described in this policy. We have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Authorized agents: An authorized agent may submit a request where local law permits. We may require proof of authority and direct verification with the account holder.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users who are under the age of legal majority where they live must use the Service only with permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information contrary to this section, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect product, provider, legal, or security changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively from their effective date.
